Dreams Have No Limits :

Help Make 2011 the Best YSNV Ever!!!

What is it?

Yoga Salutes Nonviolence (YSNV) is a charity event to benefit local shelters for domestic violence. Join us and help stop suffering in your hometown!

How does it work?

Students and practitioners gather together and participate in doing 108 Sun Salutations (or as many as they can). The participants, teachers and students alike, are sponsored by family, friends and students. Local businesses offer gift baskets or gift certificates for raffle, and shirts with the event logo are for sale.

Can I do it?

Yes! Whether you're a new student, a regular practitioner, or a teacher, you have what it takes to help! In fact, you don't have to do Yoga to participate! The Sun Salutations are taught free of charge, practice CD's are offered for sale, and practice times are available for participants to build up their stamina and enthusiasm. Here's a flyer with more information and here's a video demo of two Sun Salutations.

If you are new, or not sure you can do all 108 Sun Salutations yourself, this year we will be organizing teams who will do 108 Gentle or Modified Sun Salutations, with chairs, in a tag team fashion. More on this here.

Where will the money go? Will any of it be wasted?

All the money collected goes directly to the Local Shelters for Nonviolence. Except for a very small Paypal fee, none of the funds go towards administrative costs but are directly spent on serving those in need. So please join us and be sure to circulate the web site address among your friends and social networks!
